#AskPeshev 22: Business Obstacles for 2020 and The Power of WordPress
“Long gone are the days of referring to WordPress as a simple blogging platform; it’s a mature web content management platform, often used as a SaaS or an eCommerce engine. ”

Welcome to the new business year of 2020 :)My traffic took a solid hit for two weeks around the holidays, we’re talking about 60% off or so. This week is almost back to normal, though I suspect we’ll see a positive uptick in the coming week.I would label 2020 as the year of uncertainty. According to Reuters, the current economic cycle in the US is the longest we’ve seen over the last 100 years since the Wall Street crash of 1929. Unemployment rates are low and salaries keep going north, but to what end?In the words of the cryptocurrency fans of Bitcoin, HODL’ing, or saving zealously, is the smart strategy to employ early on. We’re approaching the next phase of financial uncertainty soon enough and being ready for the hit is my first suggestion for the year. The longer version of this is available in my Forbes story linked below. But of course, it’s unwise to stand back and wait for the end of the world to fall upon us. It’s about strategically minimizing risks and maximizing opportunities, doubling down on what works, diversifying while you can, and preparing contingency plans whenever needed. In other words, focus on making your business wildly successful and make the most out of the time until the next recession.Smart entrepreneurs, executives, and managers will manage to steer clear and make it to the next growth phase. So let’s dive in and see what a safe action plan looks like.
